ENTERTAINMENT’Simmba’ trailer: Ranveer Singh – Sara Ali Khan starrer is a surefire masala entertainerFresh off the heels of his last successful release ‘Padmaavat’, Ranveer Singh signed up with Rohit Shetty to act in, perhaps, his most mainstream masala film ever. The actor, who started his career with ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, has made a career out of performance-based roles in films like ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, and ‘Lootera’; and now he is all set to play a police inspector Sangram Bhalerao in ‘ Simmba’.Co-produced by Karan Johar, ‘Simmba’ also stars Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood. The movie is a remake of 2015 Telugu hit ‘Temper’. The poster of ‘Simmba’ was unveiled in December last year. In the quirky poster, Ranveer was seen sporting a handlebar moustache and aviators. And now finally, the film’s trailer has been released amid much fanfare. In typical Rohit Shetty fashion, the trailer is replete with colourful visuals.Ranveer earlier described Rohit as an amazing leader to PTI and said there is so much to learn from him about filmmaking and connecting with mass audience. “His passion and energy are infectious. He is so immersed in the process, you feel compelled to do your best work and that is why he makes the kind of entertainers that he does and his films are successful. Also, he treats his people well so much so that most of them are working with him for over ten years. For them, it is more than a job. It is true passion to create a legacy.”It has been reported that the hit song ‘Aankh Maare Ladka Aankh Maare’ from the 1996 movie ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ was recreated for the film and the music is produced by Bharat Goel, Aditya Dev, Chandan Saxena and Tanishk Bagchi will compose the song. Rohit Shetty’s friend and frequent collaborator Ajay Devgn is also making a guest appearance in the movie. ‘Simmba’ is slated to hit the cinema halls on December 28, 2018.Ranveer’s next project ‘Gully Boy’ is ready for a release and is expected to come out in February 2019.
