Full Time: India beat Canada 5-1 to top Pool C. The hosts sealed direct entry to quarter-finals

Four goals in the final quarter gave India a commanding 5-1 win and a direct berth to the quarter-finals in Bhubaneshwar. India were in a spot of bother at the end of Q3, with score levelled at 1-1. But the hosts came out all guns blazing in Q4 and regained the lead with two goals in two minutes. They did not look back after that and Man-of-the-Match Lalit Upadhyay scoring a brace in the final quarter. India finished with seven points in the pool, same as Belgium, but the hosts have a goal difference of +9 in comparision to Belgium’s +5.
